DENVER, Colo. — The Museum of Contemporary Art here in Denver, located at 1485 Delgany St, is a community hub for art and creative expression in our city. By inviting both global and local artists in to share their work, they are actively inviting all audiences into the dialogue around contemporary art which, in turn, drives them to continuously reinvent what a 21st century museum experience can be.

Tai Bickham, Community Outreach & Partnerships Manager at MCA Denver, stopped by KUVO's The Morning Set to share some highlights from their 2025 schedule which includes both current and upcoming shows & programming that spans multiple disciplinaries.

Here are some details on their 2025 schedule so far:

  • About two week remain in their current exhibition Movements Toward Freedom curated by their associate curator Leilani Lynch - The exhibition considers how the physical movement of the body plays an integral role in exercising personal and collective agency, community-building, civic change, and liberation while being a vehicle for healing and care.
  • Two more sessions of their Art-Inspired Circuit Training, Exercising Freedom remain. These are 90-minute sessions combining breathwork, yoga, cardio-based movements and meditation to explore themes of social justice, liberation, and movement with three selected works in the exhibition.
  • Two performances of Flight Theater, by Brooklyn-based artists Steffani Jemison and writer Quincy Flowers, on-stage at MCA Denver at the Holiday Theater on Denver’s Northside at 32nd and Clay on 01/31 and 02/01. This is a play about freedom, water, work, and the weather - an interdisciplinary meditation on the fantasy of a God’s-eye-view, the possibility of escape, and the enduring seduction of untethering ourselves from Earth.
  • A new exhibition running 02/21 through 05/04 features the work of Korean artist Suki Seokyeong Kan who uses traditional Korean materials woven with steel and brass to create the wondrous sculptures in Mountain - Hour - Face, co-curated by their senior curator, Miranda Lash and associate curator Leilani Lynch.
  • Starting in February - April our three-part youth series, Career in the Arts, explores the multitude of career and professional opportunities within the realm of visual arts, museums, entertainment and community engagement.
