Community Connection Special Edition: Sheherazade of The Wiz

A special edition of KUVO Community Connection today. Happy 50th anniversary to The Wiz the musical! The 1975 Broadway production won seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The Broadway musical has arrived in the Mile Hi City at the DCPA Temple Buell.  In her Broadway tour debut, Sheherazade portrays Glinda, the good witch of the north. The role was originated by Dee Dee Bridgewater. In the film version, she is played by Lena Horne.

Sheherazade's resume includes "Blest Be The Tie" and "Mama, I Want to Sing. She has toured with Christina Aguilere, Chaka Khan, Gregory Porter, and the Harlem Gospel Choir. Just to name a few.
