Live Broadcast: Nelson Rangell Quartet | Aug. 29, 9 PM

As part of KUVO ’s week-long 30th birthday party at DazzleJazz, KUVO will live broadcast the Nelson Rangell Quartet 9 PM show August 29.

Join KUVO host Victor Cooper - either at Dazzle or from the comfort of your own home – for a night of exciting live jazz. 

Rangell’s Quartet will feature Eric Gunnison (piano), Bijoux (bass) and Mike Marlier (drums). 

Saxophone Journal writes that Nelson Rangell “commands the alto saxophone with such authority there can be no denying that Rangell is a true artist.” Flute Talk Magazine states, “Nelson Rangell creates the impression that anything is possible when he improvises.” 

Such praise is a confirmation of what contemporary jazz fans have known since the Denver-based saxophonist emerged in the late 80s: Rangell is one of the most exciting and diverse performers in the genre, equally adept at soprano, alto, and tenor saxophone, as well as a genuine virtuoso on flute and piccolo.

In addition to live jazz events throughout the week, Dazzle will host KUVO’s 30th Birthday Open House on August 29 from 2 to 5 PM. Live music in the Dizzy Room will be provided by KUVO 30 Under 30 artist Walter Gorra (piano) as well as Gonzalo Teppa (bass)and Manuel Lopez (drums).
