Celebrate Baby It’s Cole Inside, the release of a newly remixed recording by the Dave Fuller Quintet featuring the music of Nat King Cole and Cole Porter, two of America’s great iconic composers and musicians. With the Dave Fulker Quintet is one of America’s finest jazz singers, Robert Bernard Johnson

Many of Cole Porter’s songs—though written for Broadway shows and Hollywood musicals, from the ‘20s through the ‘50s—are still favorites of jazz artists. Nat “King” Cole was among the many jazz singers and pianists who covered songs by Cole Porter (and others, of course!). He lived just 45 years—dying in 1965, one year after Porter’s death—but 60 years hence his covers remain iconic for several songs on this recording. Nat Cole opened doors for other black musicians throughout his career.

Robert Bernard Johnson - Mr. Johnson can be heard on countless records with some of our generation’s most popular artists and national commercials. He’s shared the stage with Bob HopeStevie Wonder, Angela BrownStan GetzRoberta FlackLionel RichieRobert CrayJoyce Kennedy, Jeffery Obourne along with many others. He has also been featured in national and regional productions of Porgy and Bess, Ain’t MisbehavinBlues In The NightA Brief History Of White Music, Showboat, The Full Monty, The Buddy Holly Story, and as the voice of the plant in Little Shop Of Horrors.
