Thank you to those who supported KUVO JAZZ on Colorado Gives Day!
For our Summit County Listeners: The KVJZ 91.7FM transmitter site on Bald Mountain experienced a catastrophic power line failure. Because of the high elevation and winter conditions, repairs won’t be possible until next summer. Stream KUVO JAZZ on our website, the app, or your smart speaker.
We are delighted to welcome back to the Nocturne stage pianist and composer Dave Hanson and his trio as they celebrate the work of one of America’s most iconic musical voices: Herbie Hancock. Dave will be joined by a band of Denver greats, including Patrick McDevitt on bass, and Harold Summey on drums.
Dave Hanson is an accomplished arranger, composer, and pianist who has written for a diverse range of artists and ensembles, including the Boston Pops, Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City, Denver Brass, Boulder Brass, USAF Falconaires, and Paul Winter. He is co-leader and arranger for the critically acclaimed H2 Big Band (based in Denver, Colorado). Hanson recently retired from his position at the Lamont School of Music at Denver University and teaches now at the University of Colorado in Boulder.
