Metro State Jazz Ensemble tonight at 7

Tonight at 7pm, it's the High School / Collegiate Series. At 7pm, host Geoff Anderson welcomes the Metro State University of Denver Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Ron Miles. to KUVO's Phyllis A Greer Performance Studio.

Tune in or come in for a chance to hear some of Colorado's most promising young improvisers. The concert will feature classic compositions and contemporary works.

Denver's 25th Annual Poetry Rodeo

Andy O' is the host of the Nightside on Sunday nights from 8 to 10 pm. He is a poet, and the leader of the eclectic band, Coyote Poets of the Universe. Please tune in today at 3:30 pm, when Andy O' joins Susan Gatschet Reese to talk about Denver's 25th Annual Podeo, and to recite one of his poems, in celebration of National Poetry Month.

At a special event over the weekend, KUVO honored Flo Hernandez-Ramos, one of KUVO's founders and our former CEO. We named our main broadcast studio: Studio Flo. Congratulation, Flo!

Björn Thoroddsen at KUVO

On Friday, April 18 at 4pm, Icelandic guitarist Björn Thoroddsen performs live on KUVO. Thoroddsen is one of Iceland's leading jazz guitarists and has released a number of critically acclaimed albums. He has won several Icelandic music awards, including "Jazz Performer of the Year" in 2003. 
Bjorn's interest in guitars and music developed from an early age. On completing his training in Iceland he continued his studies in Los Angeles where he graduated from the Guitar Institute of Technology.
