New Music Monday for March 9th

The 2 outstanding guitarists, Kevin Eubanks and Stanley Jordan team up for a brand new release, Duets, a collection of 10 duos between the two, alternating between acoustic and electric guitars as well as Kevin taking turns on vibes, piano and bass. The Puerto Rican trombonist and bandleader from Philadelphia, Angel "Papo" Vazquez celebrates 40 years as a musician with his brand new outing with his group,  the Mighty Pirates Troubadours, Spirit Warrior is another production of Vazquez's own, Picaro Records.

New Music Monday: First Edition of February

We start off the shortest month with a strong Colorado connection. The gifted alto saxophonist Charles McPherson most recent recording session took place here in Denver accompanied by the Front Range's finest players for the Bailey based Capri Records. Mr. McPherson's sidemen are Keith Oxman-tenor, Chip Stephens-piano, Ken Walker-bass, Todd Reid-drums.  The Journey  has a varied song list, standards,  McPherson  originals and even contributions by Oxman and Stephens.

New Music Monday: Last Call for January

We close out January with a diverse line up of new releases for your listening delight.

First up is the posthumous released CD by one of the all time great jazz flutists, Sam Most who passed away about 18 months ago.  Mr. Most's New Jazz Standards on Summit Records s a collection of a dozen tunes all written by the noted trumpeter Carl Saunders. In addition to flute, Sam is heard on clarinet, baritone sax and he throws in some scatting as well.

New Music Monday: Lotsa Local Flavor

This week's edition of New Music Monday features 2 brand new recordings from veteran and popular Front Range artists, Neil Bridge 7+ featuring Karen Lee and  the Dale Bruning Sextet.

The pianist, composer, arranger and retired educator Neil Bridge releases his latest 7+ album, this time featuring vocalist Karen Lee who is also a renowned dancer. On This is Who We Are!, Karen debuts with 4 tracks while the remaining 7 are all swingin' selections in a variety of styles, originals and covers songs.
