One week before its official release date we debut the latest by the Jazz At Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis : Live in Cuba. Recorded in October of 2010, this double disc set is finally available. The orchestra played to standing room only audiences at Havana's Mella Theatre over 3 nights performing jazz standards, originals and Afro-Cuban tunes. Also in this week's line up is the Nigerian descent bassist, Essiet Okon Essiet's new one, Shona featuring among others, Manuel Valera on piano and Lionel Loueke on guitar.

The remarkable vocalist and actress Dee Dee Bridgewater releases  Dee Dee's Feathers, an outstanding look back on over 100 years of New Orleans traditions accompanied by the formidable 18 piece New Orleans Jazz Orchestra led by the acclaimed trumpeter Irvin Mayfield.

Her 2013 debut album caused quite a stir among jazz fans, reviewers and musicians,  Cécile McLorin Salvant returns with For One To Love, another solid recording showing off the variety of styles within Cécile's vocal prowess. San Francisco Bay Area pianist Jim Martinez grew up a fan of Vince Guaraldi's piano and of Charles Schulz's Peanuts characters, after visiting the Schulz Museum of nearby Santa Rosa, he opted to record Good Grief!: A Tribute to Guaraldi, Schulz and Peanuts.

Fred Randolph

We have a provocative blend of music to debut on this week's edition of New Music Monday, a weekly feature of Lunchtime at the Oasis. So Cal's Fred Randolph is a bassist-composer and arranger, he releases Song Without Singing that has a variety of styles in 10 originals and a cover of Sting's King of Pain.

This week's edition of New Music Monday has an abundance of riches, a multi-colored explosion! NEA Jazz Master Ramsey Lewis releases the 80th album of his illustrious career, taking another look is a return to Ramsey's electric sound of the 1970s. Moroever, this landmark recording is on Mr. Lewis' own label, Ramsey House. One of the highlights is a reunion with members of Earth Wind & Fire for a stellar new take of Sun Goddess.
