New Music Monday

An ideal way to kick off the first New Music Monday during  Black History Month is our spotlight CD, a previously unreleased concert of Wes Montgomery in Paris-1965! Wes is accompanied by Harold Mabern, Arthur Harper, Jimmy Lovelace and Johnny Griffin who appears on 3 tracks. All the music on this double disc set has been remastered and authorized by the Montgomery estate.

During the next New Music Monday edition of KUVO Jazz," I will debut the latest releases by the always soulful pianist Harold Mabern and the splendid sequel, MONK-estra Volume 2 in addition to several others, one of which, the new Matt Wilson with Denver's own Ron Miles on cornet.   Last year's pianist John Beasley debut of the MONK'estra proved so successful he has returned with Volume 2, this time out he has Denver's own multi-Grammy® winner Dianne Reeves, violinist Regina Carter, Kamasi Washington and Pedrito Martínez as invited musicians.
