KUVO celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with music! Many Latino genres are featured in our various weekend programs starting Friday night with Latin Soul Party and wrapping up the weekend with Brazilian Fantasy.

Latin Soul Party – Friday nights 8pm – This program embodies the great variety of Latin artists such as Tito Puente, Selena, Santana, Eddie Palmieri, Los Lonley Boys and many others. If it’s got a Latin Beat and you can dance to it, there’s a good chance the Latin Soul Brothers will play it! Hosted by Danny Valenzuela and Ricky O’.

Latino USA – Sundays at 6am – A Peabody Award-winning program. Hosted by Maria Hinojosa.

La Nueva Voz – Sundays at 8am – A bilingual program of Latin American music and news; taking listeners to a different Central or South American nation and presents their music, history, and culture. Hosted by Jack Mudry.

Canción Mexicana – Sundays at 10am – Offering 3 hours of the best music from New Mexico, Tejano and Colorado! Rooted in the songs of Mexico and interpreted by recording artists of the Southwest, you’ll hear rancheras, cumbias, conjunto, a little bit of mariachi, and much more. Hosted by Danny Valenzuela, Debra Gallegos, Dee Burleson, Yolanda Ortega and Mona Lisa on a rotating basis.

La Raza Rocks – Sundays at 1pm – Discover the buried treasures of Chicano and Latino rock-based music, from the pioneering sounds of the 1940s to today’s newest hits! Hosted by Pocho Joe.

Alt. Latino – Sundays at 2pm – Includes diverse genres such as cumbia, Mexican garage rock, Panamanian rap, heavy metal mariachi and many more boundary-blurring sounds from around the world, plus interviews and insightful conversation about Latin events and culture. Felix Contreras and Jasmine Garsd.

Salsa Con Jazz – Sundays at 4pm – The best Latin jazz, mambo, new releases, and roots music, as well as traditional and contemporary salsa. Hosted by Janine Santana.

Brazilian Fantasy – Sundays at 6pm – Tropical passion and romance await you every Sunday. Brazilian Fantasy features the best of Brazil’s many musical styles: bossa nova, samba, Brazilian jazz and much more. Hosted by Cenir Arruda.
