Zimbira’s Zivanai Masango on Community Connection
The Community Connection guest is Zivanai Masango, leader and innovator of the band Zimbira. On Friday, June 21 during the 10 o’clock hour, Tree King will talk with Zivanai about the music and the band.
Zimbira is a 10-piece genre-defying band playing music steeped in the traditional music of Southern Africa with traditional and modern instrumentation. Audiences are immediately set into motion when they hear the intoxicating, rhythmic, and melodic sounds galvanized by the band leader Zivanai.
You can see Zimbira on stage at the City Park Jazz Pavilion on Sunday, June 23 at 6 p.m.
