Wulfie’s Wax Museum: “Keep Your Soul Together” by Freddie Hubbard
Join host Michael Wulfsohn for “Wulfie’s Wax Museum,” on the Monday Night Beat, as we journey back 45 years to 1973, and listen to one of the greatest, and most popular trumpeters in jazz, Freddie Hubbard, on an exceptionally nice studio recording entitled, “Keep Your Soul Together.” Recorded in October 1973 by Rudy Van Gelder, and released in 1974 on the CTI label, it was Freddie’s 25th album as a leader and his 5th on CTI. Freddie stretches out on this album, showing his virtuosic abilities and progressive creativity, with a little help from his friends, Ron Carter, Junior Cook, George Cables, and others. Tune in Monday, November 26 at 8:00 p.m. for the next Monday Night Beat, on KUVO Jazz.
