Wil Swindler joins Paul Donovan on Evening Jazz
Wil Swindler joined Paul Donovan in the KUVO studio this week, to chat about his upcoming gigs at Dazzle and Nocturne.
Composer and saxophonist, Wil Swindler currently resides near Denver, Colorado, where he leads two groups, the “GoodRattle Hardbop Quintet” and the “Wil Swindler’s Elevenet.”
GoodRattle Hardbop Quintet will perform at Nocturne on Fridays through the end of August and the Wil Swindler Quartet is performing the music of Billie Eilish on Saturday, August 24 at Dazzle.
Their latest album Space Bugs” received a 4-star review in Downbeat and was listed as one of the top albums for 2023. Wil Swindler has been recognized as a “Rising Star” on Soprano Saxophone in this year’s Downbeat Critic’s Poll and is a recipient of the 2008 Gil Evans Fellowship.
