Wende Harston – Complete Entertainer

Throughout the month of March, KUVO celebrates Women’s History Month by recognizing the contributions of notable women from the past who have impacted music. We will also be spotlighting women of the present who are actively creating memorable music today.

The Queen City Jazz Band’s vocalist, Wende Harston, brings to life the great hit songs of Bessie Smith, Ma Rainey, Ida Cox, Ethel Waters, Alberta Hunter, Helen Humes and many more. Harston, is a complete entertainer – she sings, dances and acts. She has appeared in many feature films and made-for-TV film series. She can be seen in local theater productions as well. She writes songs and is authoring a mystery novel. She enjoys a number of pets, and states that she is owned by a parrot. Another passion is her vintage doll collection.
