This week’s Vinyl Vault will feature Jade Warrior’s 1978 album “Way of the Sun.” Jade Warrior recorded four albums for Island Records in the 1970s and this is the last of that series. The prior albums explored an ethereal Asian sound, but “Way of the Sun” crossed the Pacific and focused on Latin America and its infectious rhythms. More rhythmically complex than prior Jade Warrior albums, “Way of the Sun” retains the distinctive guitar playing of Tony Duhig and flute work of Jon Field, sometimes evoking the spirit of Santana. Check out the Vinyl Vault with Geoff Anderson, Tuesday, Novmeber 7 at 8:30pm on KUVO.
