Vinyl Vault: “The Columbia Years ’62-’68” – Thelonious Monk

This week the Vinyl Vault goes digital in honor of Monk’s 100^th birthday. Monk recorded several albums for the Columbia label from 1962 through 1968. In 2001 Columbia released a three CD retrospective entitled “The Columbia Years/ ’62 – ’68.” The set contains a number of previously released Monk gems hitherto unheard on KUVO including an extended version of “In Walked Bud,” originally on the “Underground” album.
