Vinyl Vault: Solo Concert – Ralph Towner

This week the Vinyl Vault will feature a shimmering solo acoustic guitar album by Ralph Towner entitled “Solo Concert.” Recorded in 1979, it was released in 1980 on ECM records. ECM records are known for their excellent recording quality and this one is a great example with Towner’s 12 string and classical guitars shining brightly throughout the set. The program includes several Towner originals as well as a cover of Miles Davis’ “Nardis” and two John Abercrombie compositions: “Ralph’s Piano Waltz” and “Timeless.” Join Geoff Anderson for the Vinyl Vault this Tuesday, October 9 at 8:30 on KUVO JAZZ.
