Vinyl Vault: Shadows and Light by Joni Mitchell

Tonight’s Vinyl Vault, winter fundraiser edition, features a 1980 double live album from Joni Mitchell, “Shadows and Light.” Recorded live at the Santa Barbara Bowl during Mitchell’s tour in support of her “Mingus” album, a tribute to Charles Mingus, the album features an all-star lineup: Jaco Pastorius on bass, Don Alias on drums, Pat Metheny on guitar, Michael Brecker on sax and the late Lyle Mays on keyboards. The album features Mitchell originals as well as covers such as “Goodbye Pork Pie Hat.” Check out the Vinyl Vault with Geoff Anderson tonight, Tuesday, February 18, at 8:30 on KUVO Jazz.
