Vinyl Vault: Mike Metheny’s “Day In Night Out”

This week’s Vinyl Vault will feature Pat Metheny’s older brother, Mike and his second album, “Day In Night Out.” This hard to find, 1986 MCA Impulse! release features Mike on trumpet and flugelhorn, brother Pat on guitar, Rufus Reed on bass, Dick Odgren on keyboards and Tommy Ruskin on drums. The set features some Mike Metheny original compositions as well as covers of tunes by Charlie Parker, Don Sebesky and others.
