Vinyl Vault: “Imaginary Voyage” by Jean Luc Ponty
This week’s Vinyl Vault features an old favorite, Jean Luc Ponty’s 1976 album “Imaginary Voyage.” This was one of the earlier of a long string of fusion albums Ponty released on the Atlantic label. The album features some intricate guitar work by Daryl Stuemer as well as bass from Zappa veteran Tom Fowler. Alan Zavod played keyboards and Mark Craney played percussion.
They all back Ponty’s unique and perpetually creative fusion violin stylings.
