Vinyl Vault — Eiji Kitamura, “Swing Eiji”
The next Vinyl Vault will feature some swing from Japanese clarinetist Eiji Kitamura and his 1981 Concord Jazz album, “Swing Eiji.” The album is a collection of mostly jazz standards, most of which are quite energetic due to the exuberant Kitamura.
And it’s no wonder the album swings with backing talents like Herb Ellis and Cal Collins on guitars, Warren Vache on trumpet, Brian Torff on bass, Jake Hanna on drums, Nat Pierce on drums, and Fraser MacPherson on tenor sax.
Join Geoff Anderson on Tuesday, March 5 at 8:30 p.m. for the next Vinyl Vault on KUVO JAZZ.
