Vinyl Vault: Egberto Gismonti – “Sol Do Meio Dia”

This week the Vinyl Vault features a 1978 ECM album from multi-instrumentalist Egberto Gismonti, “Sol Do Meio Dia.” The album was inspired by Gismonti’s sojourn with the indigenous Xingu people of the Amazon. Gismonti recreated their spirit and his experience in the jungle through this music. He was helped out on the album by Colin Walcott, Ralph Towner, Nana Vasconcelos and Jan Garbarek.
