UNC/Greeley Jazz Festival: Dee Dee Bridgewater | Apr 19
Dee Dee Bridgewater: Few entertainers have ever commanded such depth of artistry in every medium. Three-time Grammy-Award winner, Tony winner, and NEA Jazz Master Dee Dee Bridgewater is a sparkling ambassador for jazz. Dee Dee made her debut in 1970 as the lead vocalist for the band led by Thad Jones and Mel Lewis, and performed in concerts and on recordings with such giants as Sonny Rollins, Dizzy Gillespie, Dexter Gordon, and Max Roach. She has been working with jazz greats ever since.
Vertical Voices: This powerful and highly acclaimed vocal quartet performs music from a variety of contemporary jazz and other musical styles including The Yellowjackets, Pat Metheny & Imogen Heap, with a fresh and innovative approach, venturing into new artistic territory.
