Gift of Jazz Centennial Concert Series presents a tribute to jazz drum legend Buddy Rich! Join the celebration with a beer and wine tasting before the show starting at 2:30pm it all happens at Historic Grant Avenue on Saturday, November 18 at 4pm.

Arguably the greatest jazz drummer of all time, the legendary Buddy Rich exhibited his love for music through the dedication of his life to the art. His was a career that spanned seven decades, beginning when Rich was 18 months old, and continuing until his death in 1987. Immensely gifted, Rich could play with remarkable speed and dexterity, despite the fact that he never received a formal lesson and reputedly refused to practice outside of his performances.

The Gift of Jazz in collaboration with the 18-piece Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra will pay tribute to this jazz giant as part of our Centennial Concert series, paying tribute to the influential artists whose 100th birthdays we would be celebrating this year. Three of our finest Colorado drummers, Alan AluisiTodd Reid and Bill Larson, will be digging in to the Buddy repertoire, in an afternoon of what promises to be a hard-swinging time!
