The Nightside with Andy O’—4th Annual Easter Guitar Pull

The 4th Annual Easter Guitar Pull is on Sunday night, April 12 at 8pm to midnight, an Easter tradition at KUVO Jazz on The Nightside with Andy O ‘ since the show’s inception.

This year we dedicate the program to the memory and music of the late John Paul “Bucky” Pizzarelli who passed away last week.

This is a deep dive into guitar jazz in all its variations from its beginnings through today’s recordings. We will examine the instruments that Bucky Pizzarelli, Emily Remler, Pat Metheny, Kenny Burrell, John Scofield, Larry Coryell and dozens more used for their recordings and stories behind their choices of those guitars.

A special bonus feature is the poetic part of the show, where we celebrate the centennial birthday of American poet, broadcaster and voice-over artist Ken Nordine and his series of Word Jazz recordings.

As a child Andy O ‘ remembers Easters for family musical gatherings where guitars were as plentiful as Easter eggs.
