The Nightside features these awesome women of the keys.

Mary Lou Williams mentored Monk, Bird, Diz, Miles, and Bud Powell in addition to arranging for Duke Ellington and Benny Goodman and in my humble opinion…the Greatest of all Time.

She was also the subject of the documentary “Mary Lou Williams: The Lady Who Swings the Band.”

We will also feature the considerable talents of Hazel Scott, Marian McPartland, Geri Allen, Myra Melford, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Renee Rosnes, Carmen Staaf, Helen Sung, Annie Booth, Carmen Sandim, Joanne Brackeen, Nina Simone, Norah Jones, Diana Krall, and Shirley Horn.
