The Night Beat – More Piano Duets

Join host Doug Crane, the Wednesday Night Beat as we close National Piano Month with duet recordings featuring some stellar jazz pianists along with a variety of other jazz musicians.

Some of the pairings you’re likely to hear time permitting include Kenny Barron with Stan Getz, Bill Charlap with Houston Person, Fred Hersch with Nancy King, Dave Brubeck with Paul Desmond, Alan Broadbent with Irene Kral, Bill Evans with Tony Bennett, Benny Green with Mark Murphy, Bill Evans with Jim Hall, Don Thompson with Jim Hall, Jimmy Rowles with Stan Getz, and Jimmy Rowles with Al Cohn.  We’ll also select a couple of duets featuring  Chick Corea with Bobby McFerrin, Gary Burton, Bela Fleck or Steve Gadd.

And, as guitarist Julian Lage will be appearing in Boulder and Denver later this week in support of his new Blue Note release Squint, we’ll try to squeeze a couple of tunes by him.
