The Jazz River—Celebrating Scotty & Origins-Orgy In Rhythm

August 3 was the 5th anniversary of the passing of Linard ‘Scotty’ Scott who created the one-of-a-kind program for KUVO JAZZ, Origins-Orgy In Rhythm.

“Since I share part of his Sunday time slot, and since when designing The Jazz River, I imagined it being something of a distant cousin to Origins-Orgy In Rhythm, The Jazz River plays its respects to ‘Scotty’ with its own homage to Scotty’s show. I never got a chance to know him but I was a fan long before I ever came to volunteer at KUVO and it is a distinct honor to show my love and appreciation by sharing a small portion of his vision that rubbed off on me and its influence on The Jazz River.” ~Matthew Goldwasser

Tune in Sunday, August 9, from 5-6pm to hear music from the Black Experience and across the Black Disapora. “From Harlem to Dar Es Salaam, from Trenchtown to Motown, from BeBop to Doo Wop to Hip Hop and other musical destinations.”
