The Funky Boombox: Tower of Power 50th anniversary special Tonight!

Highlighting Tower of Power’s performance at Levitt Pavilion on Saturday, Aug. 4 and their 50th anniversary CD release “Soul Side of Town,” KUVO’s soul revival show “The Funky Boombox” is featuring a two-hour Tower of Power special tonight at 10 p.m.

With more than two dozen LPs to their credit, the Oakland, Calif. band has come to literally define funk.  Host Rob Seligmann will be joined by KUVO Music Director Arturo Gómez, who admits to being a total devotee of TOP.

“Arturo’s got the complete collection, so the show produces itself,” said Seligmann, who’s been a funkster since his record-store days in Peoria.
