The Colorado Dragon Boat Festival returns this weekend (July 27 & 28) to Sloan’s Lake Park in Denver.

It is the largest event of its kind in the country and welcomed over 200,000 attendees just last year. The festival features dragon boat racing, a popular sport among Asian cultures and a tradition that extends back 2,000 years. With a mission of building awareness and understanding about the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities, the weekend will be filled with lots of fun events and great food. Listen to this interview with Sara Moore, executive director of Colorado Dragon Boat, to hear more about the festival and the traditions it upholds.
