The Beatles v. The Stones a Musical Showdown
The Beatles v. The Stones a Musical Showdown played at the Oriental Theater on Sunday January 13th to a packed house. The show will also be playing on January 15th at Lincoln Center in Ft. Collins and at the Boulder Theater on January 23rd.
During the two-hour show, the bands performed three sets each, trading places in quick set changes and ending the night with an all-out encore involving both bands. The band members had their outfits custom-made, since avid fans know exactly what the Beatles and Stones wore onstage during different time periods in their careers. There’s a lot of good-natured jabbing between the bands as well.
It was one of the best shows that I had seen in a long time. Both bands were accompanied by the Thomas Jefferson High School String Quartet at various points throughout the night. The Beatles tribute band (Abbey Road) and The Stones tribute band (Satisfaction) played all of the hits, and provided a fun night.
So, in my opinion who won the showdown between The Beatles and The Stones… the audience. We were treated to a great night of music and the bands left the crowd wanting more.

For the Boulder performance the show is offering complimentary tickets to federal employees impacted by the government shutdown. The show starts at 8:00 pm.
Federal employees are limited to two complimentary tickets per person and must show a valid government ID. This offer is based on availability and tickets may be obtained at the box office on the day of show only. The offer is valid if the government shutdown is still in place on the day of the show.
“Federal employees are struggling without paychecks and coming to a concert might take their minds off it for an evening. We’re happy to do it,” said Chris LeGrand, who plays “Mick Jagger” in the show.
