The 5th Annual Nightside Easter Guitar Pull

On Easter Sunday, April 4, The Nightside With Andy O’ continues a tradition that has roots in Andy’s childhood Easter celebrations. The family guitar pull would start with Easter egg hunts and BBQ and finish with family and friends gathered around playing guitars and singing. The echoes of those celebrations came to Andy when he started hosting the Sunday “Nightside” and realized he would always be hosting on Easter Sunday evening.

Being a musician and a self-described “gearhead” it seemed only natural to focus on the greats of Jazz Guitar and their instruments and musical celebrations.

This year, Andy will share conversations with renowned guitarists Pat Metheny and Dave Stryker about all things guitarish and he’ll feature their interviews throughout the four delicious hours.

You’ll also hear Jazz Guitar “Easter eggs” from the early music of Django Reinhardt, Danny Barker, and Charlie Christian to the current era of rising stars like Mary Halvorson, Julian Lage, and Lionel Loueke, plus extensive stops along the way to take in all eras and styles of Jazz Guitar.

It’s a great mix of musical philosophies and tales of sessions and performances, with poetry to spice it all up.
