Tatiana LadyMay Mayfield and the CJRO on the Music of Aretha Franklin

This Saturday, July 15th, Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra (CJRO) invites the community to The Ladies of Soul: Celebrating the Music of Aretha Franklin with Tatiana LadyMay Mayfield. This will be an evening full of music from the Queen of Soul – Aretha Franklin, among other jazz and soul favorites.

Tatiana LadyMay Mayfield is a jazz/soul vocalist, musician, composer, and educator originally from Fort Worth, Texas. She recently relocated to Denver and will join the University of Denver Lamont School of Music this fall as an Assistant Professor of Contemporary Popular Music. She has three recorded albums, has performed at several venues and festivals across the US, and can be heard on radio and streaming services worldwide. She joins the Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra, Colorado-Based and founded in 2012 by Art Boutin, at this weekend’s event. The CJRO is known for playing anything from big band to contemporary in both large and small ensembles ranging in multiple genres and styles. They welcome guest artists, both regional and world-acclaimed, to entertain audiences across the state.
