Spotlight On: Twelve-Year-Old singer Raquel Garcia

School is back in session and some kids are happy, while the majority wish that they were still on summer break.  While a lot of kids spent their summer sleeping in, hanging out with friends, one kid spent her summer working towards advancing her career. Yes, career.

Twelve-year-old Raquel Garcia wants to be a singer when she grows up and has already been making strides in her young career. In the last year she has performed for parties, benefits, politicians, and more. I first encountered her at Mayor Hancock’s State of the City address, where she blew the audience away with her cover of John Lennon’s Imagine.

Raquel stopped by the KUVO studios recently to talk about her love of singing, places she has performed, sing a few songs  and more.Interview with Raquel Garcia
