Arts Update with Carrie Saldo originally airing January 21, 2016

Join the First Take crew each Thursday at 8:35 AM as they talk about Colorado’s cultural scene with Arts District host Carrie Saldo. Below is the summary from January 21, 2016.

“Sex with Strangers” at Curious Theatre

On the face of it, this production is about two unknowns becoming well acquainted with each other’s bodies. Under the surface, this play is really about communication and the positive and negative impact technology can have.

Paige Price and Michael Kingsbaker play two writers – Olivia, in her late 30s and Ethan, in his late 20s. Ethan is a blogger whose career  took off because of his posts about sex with strangers. Olivia is a good writer who hasn’t had much success.

After they meet, technology begins to change both of their lives in unexpected ways.  The play’s theme of communication is raddled by digital, whit, and humor.

This production – directed by Christy Montour-Larson – runs through February 20.
