Salsa Con Jazz – Carlos Lando hosts Puerto Rico Special

Sunday, January 14 at 2 p.m. on KUVO’s “Salsa Con Jazz” radio program, Carlos Lando fills in for Janine Santana to present a special on Puerto Rico’s contributions to Salsa and Jazz. He’ll be featuring music from La Sonora Ponceña, sonero (singer) Ismael Rivera y Sus Cachimbos, Grupo Afro Boricua and more!

Carlos will also present a live phone interview with All About Jazz contributor and musicologist James Nadal, who is living and working in Puerto Rico.  We’re looking forward to an update on conditions on the island, now four months after Hurricane Maria.

“Salsa Con Jazz” features the best Latin jazz, mambo, new releases, and roots music, as well as traditional and contemporary salsa. Sundays at 2 p.m. on KUVO Jazz.
