Roxanne Brown: A Tribute to My Mom, Louise Duncan | Mar 18
Roxanne Brown pays homage to her mother at La Cour Bistro & Art Bar on Friday, March 18 – 6:30 and 8:30pm.
Roxanne Brown was born into a family of musicians, most notably the late Louise Duncan, international jazz pianist, for whom the Colorado Black Arts Lifetime Achievement award is named. Roxanne received the award herself in 2011 for her extensive musical accomplishments. Music is a part of Roxanne’s DNA, and it is reflected in her songs, appearances, and delivery. Roxanne’s career began in Aspen, Colorado at the Red Onion showroom and restaurant. Trio included acclaimed bassist, and Colorado native, Paul Warburton. Roxanne remained at the Red Onion for four years until offered an engagement in San Francisco, California where she performed at the Both And with Les McCaan and many of the local jazz venues for over 20 years. She then appeared at the South Tahoe Nugget and toured the Vegas circuit. Featuring: Roxanne Brown vocals, Ellyn Rucker on piano, Ron Bland on bass, and Jill Fredricksen on drums.
