Review: The Tina Turner Musical
What an exhilarating show, I enjoyed it immensely! Moved out of my seat with all the music as the audience sang along. I liked the opening and the way they started Tina’s life. There were a few twists and turns that I wasn’t expecting, but nevertheless, it was phenomenal. Ari Groover gives an excellent performance portraying Tina – she brings it all to life.
I was also extremely impressed with the voice of Symphony King. Playing young Tina, she has a powerful voice for such a little person! The stage was full of so much talent. My favorite performance was extremely “Simply the Best.” The talent of the local musicians was amazing! It takes me back to seeing the Ike & Tina Turner Revue in the early 70s at the Denver Coliseum when the Church of the Holy Redeemer brought them to Denver as a fundraiser. Such an incredible show!
Be sure to get to The Tina Turner Musical at DCPA (Denver Center of the Prforming Arts – The Buell Theater) Now through October 29th!
