Remembering Joe Mares

Anyone lucky enough to be at Denver’s El Chapultepec had to have seen his collages of jazz artists and friends from the community displayed on the walls. The man responsible for those photo posters was KUVO’s longtime friend Joe Mares.

Joseph Paul Mares passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 29, at his home on the north side. Joe was known and loved by many of us in the jazz community.
