R&B Jukebox Celebrates Titans of the Rhythm & Blues Airwaves
This Saturday, January 1, join your host Easy Bill on the R&B Jukebox as we celebrate the 100th birthday of not one, but two titans of the Rhythm and Blues airwaves and beyond: Johnny Otis, who discovered and worked with many of the biggest names of R&B, and Alan Freed, known for popularizing the term “Rock n’ Roll” and introducing the music to teenagers everywhere.
Our first hour will be focused on the artists that Johnny Otis worked with, discovered, and promoted over his long career. Then in our second hour, we’ll turn the spotlight onto some of the artists that Alan Freed featured on his radio show and in his 1950’s motion pictures.
The R&B Jukebox airs Saturday night, at 6 pm. Only on KUVO JAZZ!
