R&B Jukebox Annual Take Cover Show

This annual show features the original version of songs that were later covered (get it?) by popular artists. Think popular songs like,
Time is on My Side, How Sweet it is to be Loved By You, Please, Mr. Postman, Fever, Dedicated to the One I Love. All made popular by groups like the Rolling Stones, James Taylor, The Beatles, Peggy Lee, and The Mamas and the Papas.

Some of the original artists you’ll hear are: Big Mama Thornton, Irma Thomas, Sam Cooke, The Marvelettes, Little Willie John, and many, many more!

These are some of the songs that laid the foundation for popular music in the 60s an 70s. Recognizable, but not often heard by the original artists. While we play many of these songs throughout the year, this is the only show dedicated to playing two hours of them.
