Canción Mexicana | Sunday 9am

Hosts - Larry Lobato Jr., Yolanda Ortega, Mona Lisa

Every Sunday morning from 9 am to 1 pm, Canción Mexicana offers the best music from Mexico, New Mexico, Tejano, and Colorado!

Our first hour features classics from Mexico’s Epoca Dorada (Golden Age) playing music by Mexico’s greatest musical artists like Jose Alfredo Jimenez, Lola Beltran, Chavela Vargas, and Pedro Infante. Included in this hour are special features entitled Nuestras Tradiciones Culturales narrated by Dr. Lorenzo Trujillo, unique insight into celebrated Mejicano artists who were famous for their interpretations of the old songs, our roots!

Canción Mexicana continues until 1:00 pm with Tejano, New Mexico, and Colorado musicians interpreting old standards (great music never gets old) as well as playing great new releases from today’s top musicians.

Get ready to dance! Alternating hosts are Monalisa, Yolanda Ortega, Larry Lobato, and Jesse Estrada-Segura.
