Pianist Emmet Cohen at KUVO

In addition to jazz clubs and music schools, acclaimed young pianist Emmet Cohen included KUVO in his Colorado tour.  Here’s a segment of his performance interview on “Lunchtime at the Oasis” with host Arturo Gomez.

While in Colorado Cohen held classes at Colorado State University and the University of Northern Colorado. “The Way I’ve learned to teach is to show my love for it and show the joy it can bring me; and the uplifting it can bring to people of all kinds, old people, young people, children or people of different countries.”

“I have a great community of friends … we learned a lot about music by listening together.” Cohen touches on the importance of listening to music with people to gain a better understanding. “When you listen together, different people hear different things and notice different things.”
