Pianist Adam Bodine joins Paul Donovan on Evening Jazz
Colorado pianist Adam Bodine joins host Paul Donovan on Evening Jazz on Thursday, August 1 at 4:15 p.m. for an interview to talk about his upcoming performance at Nocturne this Saturday night.
Whether tearing it up on stage or laying it down in the studio, professional pianist and composer Adam Bodine thrives in a variety of roles and realms. A diligent bandleader and creative arranger, Adam has refreshingly open sensibilities and an expressive authenticity that especially comes to life through his original instrumental music. A sought-after sideman as well, this remarkably versatile keyboardist is super active across a diverse range of scenes and communities.
Undeniable is Adam’s natural musicality and his joy of playing live, which paired with his eccentric sense of humor, always shines on stage and treats audiences to unique and memorable experiences. Especially throughout his home state of Colorado, the charismatic pianist has been elevating his craft and cultivating a substantial performance résumé that includes scores of venerable venues, festivals, and renowned concert appearances alike. Along with continued success as a main act, various Bodine ensembles have also had the honor of sharing the marquee with some jazz heavyweights such as Robert Glasper, The Bad Plus, Christian McBride, Ron Miles, Charlie Hunter, Sean Jones, Ravi Coltrane, Eddie Gómez, and Pancho Sanchez.
As a music educator, Adam Bodine enjoys connecting with students of all ages and skill levels. He’s worked at a multitude of workshops, camps, schools, and universities, as well as teaches privately out of his home studio in Boulder County, Colorado.
Adam with his quintet will be performing a diverse catalog of original works.
The Adam Bodine Quintet plays Nocturne on Saturday, August 3 at 6 p.m. — Adam on piano, Ike Spivak on saxophone & flute, Dave Corbus on guitar, Peter Huffaker on bass, and Alejandro Castaño on drums.
