Paul Musso Trio plays the King Cole Trio
Paul Musso is an Associate Professor and Area Head of Music Performance in the Music and Entertainment Industry Studies Department at the University of Colorado Denver. Paul has been with CU Denver for twenty-six years. His most recent publication, Introduction to Music: an Interactive Approach, was released in early 2012. He is the author of several Mel Bay publications for jazz guitar: Graded Fingerstyle Jazz Guitar Solos, Improvising With Mini-Arpeggios and Fingerstyle Jazz Guitar Chord Soloing. Paul is a co-author of Mel Bay’s Master Anthology of 2000 Jazz Guitar, where Paul shares the bill with guitar greats Johnny Smith, John Abercrombie, Buckey Pizzarelli, Andy Summers and many others. Paul is an active freelance guitarist and has performed in several diverse jazz, Latin, Gypsy, pop and classical ensembles including: the Colorado Symphony, the Boulder Festival Orchestra and the Aspen Music Festival Orchestra. Paul has performed in venues throughout Europe, Mexico and the United States including the Roulette in Brooklyn, Ronnie Scott’s in London, the Tijuana Cultural Center, the Aspen Music Festival, and the Westcliff Jazz Festival.
For over 2 decades, Drew Morell has been a professional jazz pianist, bassist, guitarist and music educator in the Denver area. one of the true heavy hitters on the Denver jazz scene, Drew has recorded as a sideman on dozens of albums, played in every major jazz festival in Colorado and was the house bassist at the nationally renowned El Chapultapec for three years. Drew is full-time music faculty at the University of Colorado at Denver, and owns/operates his own music studio, Infinity Music in Littleton, Colorado.
Pianist Justin Adams has performed with jazz greats Claudio Roditi, J.P. Torres, Chris Calloway, Candido Camaro, Claudio Slon, and has played at many national jazz festivals. Other notable performances include: the Inaugural Ball with Wayne Newton, the Kentucky Derby, and the City of New Orleans New Year’s Eve Celebration. In his scholastic career, he is both an alumni and current faculty member teaching jazz piano at Metropolitan State in Denver, CO.
Supporting the musicians practicing their craft on our stage is important to us – we have an artist fee that ranges from $5 to $10 per person per night (for Artists in Residence) that is applied to all guest checks at the conclusion of an evening. This artist fee goes directly fund all the live music heard at Nocturne.
