On Stage: Women at KUVO
On Sundays throughout March, KUVO is celebrating women artists, as they were recorded in the Phyllis A. Greer Performance Studio. The KUVO archive program “On Stage” is on the air Sundays at 4 pm.
Our final “Women at KUVO” edition is this Sunday, March 24 when we’ll hear music from Julie Monley, Wendy Fopeano, Venus Cruz, Helen Sung, Lynne Arriale, Teresa Carroll, Kim Bird, and Rene Marie.
The U. S. Congress designated March as “National Women’s History Month” in 1987, and KUVO has been broadcasting women musicians from its studios almost that long. Among the great performances captured by KUVO are reedwoman Laura Newman and A.O.A., vocalist Roberta Gambarini, conguera Janine Santana, bassist/vocalist Katie Thiroux, violinist Regina Carter, vocalist Teresa Carroll, guitarist Steph Johnson, flutist Ali Ryerson, vocalist Wendy Fopeano, and so many more!
Tune in to “On Stage” for Women at KUVO, rebroadcast as their sessions were performed in KUVO’s Phyllis A. Greer Performance Studio. That’s Sunday afternoons at 4 pm throughout March hosted by Susan Gatschet. “On Stage,” a KUVO exclusive!
