On Stage: Trumpet Masters Roy Hargrove & Ron Miles

This Saturday, June 20, at 10 p.m., KUVO’s performance archive show “On Stage” features two masters of the brass, Ron Miles and the late Roy Hargrove!

KUVO has unearthed more performance archives from decades ago. Roy Hargrove played live on KUVO in 1990 before there was a Phyllis A. Greer studio. He was just 22 years old at the time. A decade later, Ron Miles played at KUVO, and by the year 2000 Miles was on his fifth solo project. He was also on the faculty at MSU-Denver.

It’s pure trumpet mastery from Roy Hargrove and Ron Miles, recorded as they performed live on KUVO. “On Stage” is hosted by Susan Gatschet, Saturdays at 10 p.mo., only on KUVO JAZZ.
