On Stage—The Music of Bob Dorough

KUVO’s performance series “On Stage” features a loving recollection of wordsmith – crooner – tune-smith Bob Dorough!

Dorough (who passed away in April 2018 at age 94) had been visiting KUVO since the 90s, and we’ve been privileged to capture his wry wit in a variety of settings. In 2006, he played select gems, including “I’m Hip” and “Yardbird Suite” sitting at the piano all by himself. But we’ve also got a recording of Dorough’s performance in 1998 in a trio with Ken Walker (bass) and Todd Reid (drums). He must have liked the session because they reassembled in 2005 with Dave Corbus on guitar.

Hear highlights from these Bob Dorough sessions as they were produced live in KUVO’s Phyllis A. Greer Performance Studio.
