On Stage presents Convergence

“On Stage,” KUVO’s archive broadcast presents “Convergence” on Saturday, June 6 at 10pm.

Convergence is a supergroup of Colorado-based players, with Mark Simon – bass, Eric Gunnison – piano John Gunther – saxophone, Greg Gisbert – trumpet/flugelhorn, Mark Patterson – trombone and Paul Romaine – drums. Convergence performed at KUVO in the Phyllis A. Greer Performance Studio in 2004 and we liked their version of Thad Jones’ Cherry Juice so much, we included it on Live at the Oasis, Volume 7. In 2007, Convergence gathered with Pete Gallio on tenor sax and Scott Wenholdt on trumpet. These are sessions with mostly original compositions from Gunther, Gunnison, Patterson, and Simon!
