On Stage: Paquito D’ Rivera | June 3

This Sunday, June 3 at 4 p.m., KUVO’s performance series “On Stage” features a very special recording of NEA Jazz Master Paquito D’Rivera, who performed at the Phyllis A. Greer Performance Studio at KUVO in 2015.

Paquito D’ Rivera enlisted the help of some local musicians to accompany him, embodied in The Walter Gorra Septet.  Gorra, recognized as one of KUVO’s “30 Under 30” in 2015, put together the band, including bassist Mike Facey, drummer B.K. Kahn, percussionist Manuel Lopez, vibraphonist Greg Harris, trumpeter Josh Reed, and tenor saxophonist Greg Wall.  D’Rivera visited Denver to play a benefit concert for a Cuban humanitarian organization.
