On Stage: Local Piano Hero Eric Gunnison
This Sunday, February 4, at 4 p.m., KUVO’s performance series “On Stage” features local piano hero Eric Gunnison!
Eric has been on the local music scene for more than two decades, providing his piano services to local symphonies, Rare Silk, Nelson Rangell and Ron Miles. His national credits include work with Carmen McRae, Phil Woods, Red Rodney, James Moody and more! KUVO has recordings with Gunnison that go back a full 20 years! Sessions include a trio date with Mark Simon (bass) and Paul Romaine (drums), in quartet with Simon, Mike Marlier (drums) and Randy Chavez (guitar), and in various accompaniment settings with vocalist Marguerite Juenemann, bassist Kent McLagen and guitarist Mike Abbott. He’s on the jazz faculty at the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music.
Get up close and personal with the keyboard artistry of Eric Gunnison in various settings, played back for you as they were broadcast LIVE in KUVO’s Phyllis A. Greer Performance Studio. That’s this Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. “On Stage,” a KUVO exclusive!
