On Stage: Live and Local with Bluesman Sam Mayfield!

“Live and Local” music is a GREAT reason to support KUVO during the Fall Membership Campaign! Tune in this Sunday, October 7, at 4 p.m., to KUVO’s performance archive show “On Stage” featuring recordings from Denver’s favorite bluesman, Sam Mayfield!

Don’t be surprised that blues musicians make their home in the mild climate of Denver. The blues are universal.  So Sammy Mayfield’s hot-licked electric blues fit in just fine in Denver. Before he landed the co-host slot on KUVO’s “All Blues” program on Saturdays at 4:00 p.m., KUVO was a fan of Sammy’s. Our earliest broadcast of the Sam Mayfield Revue goes back to 1995 at the Sloans Lake Event Center. At KUVO studios, we’ve got Sam’s guitar as part of Little Mary and Her Hometown Boogie Kings and The Heavy Cats, two sessions from 2004. Of course, Sam Mayfield’s Blues Revue has been wowing Denver audiences for years. We’ve got Sam with friends like Mr. Wonderful and Miss Marvelous too!
